Best 90 Inch TVs: Smart 4k & 8k TV Reviews & Buyer Guide

With technology continuously evolving in the television space there are more options now for 90 to 100 in televisions then there were years ago. You will need a lot of space not only on your wall but also in your room where these large HDTVs will go so that all can see them at a great angle and good distance that these televisions require for the best viewing.

Since these are the top of the line largest HDTVs currently available in 2020 expect to break out your wallet to get what you really want.

There is nothing better currently available, so you will be happy to have the best 80+ inch TVs on the market.

You can trust these reviews to find the best 90 to 100 inch TVs and be happy with your purchase for years to come.

You’ll notice there are some mid-80 inch TVs mixed in the list. This is due to the fact that they may have better up-to-date tech and specs that some other 90 inch TVs available may not have. Most brands have stopped producing the 90-100 inch models as costs became too high when developed with new technology like QLED, OLED, HDR10+ and curved screens.

Wouldn’t you want better picture quality and technology instead of an unnoticeable few inches off the screen (of an already huge TV)?

Being a few inches short of 90 is nothing anyone will ever notice as these are still very large HDTVs. What can be noticed is outdated viewing technology that is missing technology like QLED, 4k, 8k or HDR10 and HDR10+.

While there aren’t a ton of options above 90 inches, there are also screen projectors which tend to be less costly, that allow you to get the big screen size you’re looking for. But these HDTVs have a lot of pros over screen projectors, like quick on/off, broadcast tuners, enhanced lifespan, no shadows when someone stands in front of a projector, no need for installment of projectors, and much more.

When it comes to price making you hesitate, a lot of these TVs offer 12 month payment plans with 0% interest if you get an Amazon Store Card. It’s easier to digest to make small monthly payments and you don’t pay any extra thanks to the 0% interest rate. You could similarly put it on a credit card with a 0% interest to get points and pay it off as you wish.

So if you’re looking for the best 90 inch TVs, check out these reviews and our buyer’s guide below to help you choose the best 80-90 inch HD TV.

How to Choose the Best 90 Inch TV: Buyer’s Guide

As always, it comes down to your preferences when buying a television of this size. It’s a bit of an investment so you want to make sure it will last and you’ll be happy with your choice. Rest assured that the technology and quality of the above brands and models are something to write home about so you need not worry about the visual or audio quality.

Picking a Size

If you have the space and want to really impress with the biggest TV and proclaim 100 inches, then the Hisense is for you. But remember, its a laser projection onto a screen, so while technically not a TV in traditional sense, it still matches or exceeds all the quality and tech specs of the other TVs available.

Hisense 100-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV 2018 (100L8D)
  • Visit puls.com/hisense for information and pricing on professional installation
  • 100-inch ambient light rejection screen for light or dark environments

Viewing angles matter and the amount of room you have in your living space. Some large screen TVs don’t look as good if you are sitting 4 feet away and on an angle. But if you have the space and can be at least 6-8 feet away and want to view from any angle besides behind the TV, then any of the above TVs will do the trick for you.

HDR (High Dynamic Range)

When it comes to HDR, currently HDR10+ is the best technology available. But you may not even notice the difference between a HDR10 and HDR10+ when viewing a TV. The other devices you’re using also need to be HDR compatible to take full effect of this feature.

Refresh Rate

Refresh rates are how fast the images changes during movement. So the higher the better if you are a sports lover or gamer, or maybe love to watch fast action paced movies, then you’ll want to look for a TV with at least 120hz refresh rate, or an option to double and enable 240hz rate. If you truly want the best 90 inch TV that also has 240hz refresh rate then go with the Sharp Aquos.

Sharp LC-90LE657U 90-Inch Aquos HD 1080p 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV (2014 Model)
  • Refresh Rate: 120Hz (Native); AquoMotion 240 (Effective)
  • Backlight: LED (Full Array)

But if you can live with 2 inches less and want 4k quality then you’ll be happy with Samsung Q9F.

Samsung Electronics QN88Q9FAMFXZA 88-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2017 Model)
  • Get more than a billion colors and 100% color volume with exclusive new Quantum Dots.
  • See elite realism-from a lifelike sun to nights draped in darkness with layers of depth. That’s Q contrast.

Available Ports

If you have a lot of devices like gaming consoles, Blu-Rays, streaming devices, cable boxes and more then you’ll want to make sure you have at least 4 HDMI ports. You can also look for PC inputs if you want to hook up a laptop as well as USB ports to stick thumb drives in. Most of the newer TVs come with 4 HDMIs, as all of the above do except the Hisense Smart Laster.

Sound Quality

You’ll want to look for the best of the best when it comes to sound and most of the latest and greatest TVs are equipped with these. Harmon Kardon, Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos DTS Premium, and Acoustic Multi-Audio are some of the technologies you should look for. With the above options you won’t have to worry about these, but you can always add a soundbar, wireless surround sound or a home theater system to really feel the noise.

Smart TVs

Look for TVs with built in smart apps or voice enabled technology like Alexa and Google Assistant. This way you can have hands free voice control as well as all of your streaming options without having to connect another streaming device like a Roku Stick, Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple TV.

Conclusion

As technology advances and materials become more affordable, we’ll start to see more 90 and 100 inch TVs on the market. But until then, having something in the 80 inch range is best if you want the latest and greatest technology like HDR10+ or 8k that will be at the top of its game for a long time to come. You can trust any of the brands above, but we would highly recommend Sony or Samsung even at their 80 inch size, pack a punch and will last you with great visual and audio experiences for a long time to come.
